Royal Roses – Look at the delicate little pink roses lamp-worked onto each of these blue/transparent beads! In addition to the tiny roses, the transparent Indian Glass beads are swirled with 22 carat gold dust! You’ll easily see the roses and the gold dust when you open the box containing this delightful necklace.
I interspersed tiny rose-colored glass beads and rose iridescent beads throughout to dramatize the lamp-worked roses.
Lamp-work beads are handmade and are formed by heating glass with a blowtorch and then working it into the artist’s desired bead shapes. Pink and white roses are added to these beads by touching the base bead with pink and white melted glass and twisting it slightly to form a rose.
Cats-eye was a very popular stone for engagement rings in Victorian times, when it was known as Chrysolite. In Metaphysics, this stone is reputed to bring wealth and prosperity and to help regain lost wealth. These Cats-eye chips are not natural, but are manufactured by fusing quartz fibers together in order to create the chatoyancy effect of a band of light through it. They are also called fiber-optic beads.
Royal Roses is a 16″ necklace with matching earrings, handmade by Gail using 22 carat gold swirl cobalt (royal blue) beads, cobalt (royal blue) Cats-eye chips, and rose-colored iridescent Rocaille seed beads.
