China Blue

Description

China Blue – Royal blue cats-eye chips dramatize the hand-painted Chinese porcelain tube that is the centerpiece of this beautiful necklace. Red, white, and blue is always a winner, so, inspired by the red flowers on the porcelain tube, I added a few red Indian Glass swirl beads.

Cats-eye was a very popular stone for engagement rings in Victorian times, when it was known as Chrysolite. In Metaphysics, this stone is reputed to bring wealth and prosperity and to help regain lost wealth. These Cats-eye chips are not natural, but are manufactured by fusing quartz fibers together in order to create the chatoyancy effect of a band of light through it. They are also called fiber-optic beads.

China Blue is a 16” necklace, with matching earrings, handmade by Gail with a large Chinese porcelain tube, royal blue Cats-eye chips, red Indian glass swirl beads, and gold foil-lined glass beads.
