Ming Dynasty Sparkle – If you can’t have the whole Ming Vase, you should have at least this shard of one!
During China’s Ming Dynasty (c 1368 – 1644), its people enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle filled with great literature and art. Their deeply revered hand-painted white porcelain objects were found only in the homes of their wealthiest people.
Chinese archeologists recently unearthed a Ming Vase factory and salvaged as much of the precious (even when broken!) porcelain they could. I was able to obtain a small quantity, just so that you can wear a piece of the world’s wealthiest history around your neck!
Notice the little yellow canary on the shard!
The porcelain shard is wrapped in Sterling Silver.
Authentic Ming Dynasty Porcelain Shard from my Ming Dynasty Collection.
The sparkling lemon yellow beads are authentic Bohemian Crackle Glass beads. Pressed, round Druk beads are heated and rapidly cooled to produce internal crackles. Crackles increase light reflection inside the beads and deepen the drama of the color. They are still made by hand in small quantities by artisans, and each batch is slightly different.
Ming Dynasty Sparkle is an 18” necklace, with matching earrings, handmade by Gail from an authentic Ming Dynasty antique porcelain shard, citrus yellow crackle glass beads, and spring green iridescent glass beads.
